Anxiety related disorders affect over 18% of the US population and are also prevalent the world over. Where there are those who suffer from full blown and chronic anxiety related complications, there are others who though not chronic, also experience episodes where their anxiety becomes overwhelming.
Is Something Triggering my Anxiety
If you’re not someone pre-diagnosed with a full blown anxiety disorder but at the same time are experiencing symptoms such as restlessness or even panic attacks, you may be exposed to triggers. Anxiety triggers can serve to make us extremely anxious even in the absence of any clinically diagnosed complications. Here are some potential anxiety triggers that might be making you anxious.
Physical Health
We often fail to realize just how important our physical health is until something goes wrong and we can feel the effects of whatever disease we may be suffering from. Most serious or chronic physical health concerns are a strong anxiety trigger. This is because our physical wellbeing is directly related to our ability to live and enjoy life.
If you’re struggling with serious health problems, chances are these are triggering your anxiety.
Caffeine
Coffee is great and some of us literally can’t get the day started without it. That being said, it is also a powerful natural stimulant. In moderate amounts, coffee helps us get things done. On the other hand, if you drink coffee all the time and often during the day, excessive levels of caffeine in your blood are bound to make you anxious!
If you’re feeling too anxious and have been downing a lot of joe, maybe cut back a little!
Finances
It would be nice to believe that money is not a thing but we don’t live in a Utopian setup. Not being able to make ends meet could well put a person on the street. If you’re someone who is struggling with or stressed about finances, chances are those stresses are seriously making you anxious and could even trigger panic attacks depending on how dire they may be!
Negative Dwelling
You would be surprised about how powerful the mind is. Sometimes, even when there is literally nothing to stress about, we give ourselves reasons to over-think. We may dwell on hypothetical accidents, worry about our children (even though they are perfectly fine), stress about weight (even though we’re healthy) and so on. If you dwell on something negative long enough, it becomes reality in your head and can well contribute to a whole lot of anxiety!
Conflict
Finally, conflict can be a powerful cause of anxiety among many. Fights with colleagues, loved ones, children, parents and so on usually leave a bad taste in our mouths. If you’re feeling extremely anxious and are in the middle of some long drawn row with someone you know that might just be the reason.
Winding Down
If you really feel like your anxiety is chronic or if you feel like certain situations trigger overwhelming anxiety there is help available. Though there are many ways in which you can work on your anxiety, hypnosis treatment for anxiety can be extremely effective.
If you’re located in Rochester – NY or anywhere else in the US, you can schedule a Skype hypnosis session with us. Remember, no matter how scary it gets, there are always ways to heal!
